Artweek Auckland 2014.

Central City

10 — 19 October

FREE

Charting its fourth year in 2014, ARTWEEK brings together the city-wide art community under one umbrella with a cross section of free art exhibitions, art-related talks, special events, late night openings, art tours and exhibitions in commercial and public art galleries and venues around the city.

With activations taking place in eight different precincts, including Auckland’s BIG little City, Newmarket, Ponsonby, Parnell, Karangahape Road and Devonport, there are also satellite events in the South, West and North Shore.

Walking Tours allow for participants to  visit galleries, pop up spaces, public artworks, corporate collections and much more – or if you wish to partake on a 10km round trip Tours by Bike, granting an opportunity to take in Auckland’s many sights and visiting galleries along the way.

ARTWEEK also offers a level on interactivity and tutorial throughout 2014 presenting masterclasses and workshops on collecting art and expressing your opinions through creative writing.
All events are free and everyone is welcome.

If you have an event for 2014 or any enquiries contact Director Deborah White at deborah@artweekauckland.co.nz  or phone 021 639 789.

Artweek Auckland is presented by the NZ Contemporary Arts Trust,  a registered charitable trust.

ARTWEEK ARTzine

Everyone's a critic but there are few organised opportunities for budding and established writers to contribute to a critical conversation about our art.

Now is your chance to review an exhibition you find interesting (whether it takes your fancy or not) or comment with a short article more generally on exhibitions and the visual arts in New Zealand.

— The best piece of writing each month wins a 2 year subscription to Art News.

— The best writing for the quarter wins editorial space in Art News next issue.
