03 October — 01 November
A spectacular, free, outdoor public exhibition featuring the very best images entered in the New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year competition.
For seven years, the New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year competition has been showcasing the works of New Zealand’s best photographers who seek to describe the extraordinary natural and cultural riches of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Come along and view the incredible images from six years of previous competitions, and this year’s finalists – displayed in large format, high quality prints in an assemblage of purposely fit-out containers, in an ‘image forest’ – all under the protection of a large format sail. This is a free all-weather attraction, suitable for all ages to enjoy.
View the visually spectacular 2015 finalists across the five categories; Wildlife, Landscape, Society & Culture, Photo Story and (new in 2015) Time Lapse. Explore and experience New Zealand’s people, places and flora and fauna, and be challenged and surprised by what you encounter. Visitors are also invited to put themselves in the judge’s chair and vote for their favourite images on site using interactive screens provided. The nation’s favourite image will be awarded the People’s Choice award when the winners are announced in late October.
